Not happy with Macally Portable video - Is the price right for something that doesn t work well? Probably not. The Macally Portable Goose Neck USB video met the physical demands of the counter top our Mac sits on, but that s about all. We ve used it twice (tried to use it twice). Finding the button, or combination of buttons, to actually send video has eluded both my wife and I. We think this product is a turkey.
Okay for the price - Picture quality is a bit fuzzy, and it doesn t see a wide area, but you can t expect a lot from a webcam in this price range. The gooseneck is very convenient, and for a cheap camera, it gets the job done.
BAD WEBCAM...I m surprised at Macally! - I usually trust and buy Macally products, but why bother making this camera at all??? it had a horrible photo. It looked like I was playing with Photoshop s image washes. And it uses a driver. there are plenty of driver-less webcams out there. try something else.Macally Portable Goose Neck USB Video Web Cam - ICECAM
Poor Quality, Doesn t Work With Skype - The options are bleak if you re looking for a USB web cam for Macs these days, so I reluctantly gave this one a shot. The image quality is terrible -- it s extremely grainy and of poor contrast even in good lighting conditions. Furthermore, it doesn t work with Skype -- even with the help of the iUSBCam software. A complete waste of $30.
Waste of money~ doesn t do a darn thing - Absolute POS waste of money. Do not, under any circumstances, purchase this if you have a mac and want to use YIM. It will crash as soon as someone connects to see you, or within a few seconds thereafter. It would have been better to burn the $25... at least it would have produced a little bit of heat and light.
